Day 1: Arrival in Addis Ababa
Upon your arrival at Addis Ababa Bole International Airport, you will be greeted by our representative and transferred to your hotel. Take some time to rest and acclimate to the new surroundings. In the afternoon, you can explore the vibrant city of Addis Ababa, visiting attractions such as the National Museum, Holy Trinity Cathedral, and the bustling Mercato market.
Day 2: Addis Ababa City Tour
Embark on a full-day city tour of Addis Ababa, Ethiopia's capital. Start your day with a visit to the Ethnological Museum, located within the beautiful grounds of Addis Ababa University. Next, explore the impressive architecture of the Holy Trinity Cathedral, a significant religious site. Continue your tour with a visit to the National Museum, home to the famous fossilized remains of Lucy, a 3.2-million-year-old hominid. End your day with a stroll through the lively streets of Piazza, where you can enjoy local cuisine and shop for unique souvenirs.
Day 3: Journey to GCCA
After breakfast, depart from Addis Ababa and embark on a scenic drive to the Menze Guassa Community Conservation Area (GCCA). The journey will take you through picturesque landscapes, passing small villages and stunning mountain ranges. Upon arrival at GCCA, settle into your accommodation and take some time to relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. In the evening, you can participate in a community cultural exchange, learning about the traditions and way of life of the local people.
Day 4: Menze Guassa Eco Trekking
Today is dedicated to exploring the beautiful Menze Guassa Community Conservation Area. Lace up your hiking boots and embark on an eco-trekking adventure through the Guassa plateau, famous for its stunning scenery and unique wildlife. As you hike along the trails, keep an eye out for Ethiopian wolves, gelada baboons, and a variety of endemic bird species. Enjoy a picnic lunch amidst the breathtaking landscape before continuing your trek. In the late afternoon, return to your accommodation and relax.
Day 5: Return to Addis Ababa
After breakfast, bid farewell to the Menze Guassa Community Conservation Area and begin your journey back to Addis Ababa. Take in the last views of the Ethiopian countryside as you drive through rural areas. Upon arrival in Addis Ababa, you will be transferred to the airport for your departure flight or you can choose to extend your stay and explore more of Ethiopia's cultural and natural wonders.
