6-Day Wildebeest Migration & Ndutu Calving Season
Day 1: Arrival in Arusha
Upon your arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be transferred to your hotel in Arusha. Take some time to relax and prepare for the exciting adventure ahead. Arusha is a vibrant city with a rich cultural heritage, so you may choose to explore its markets, museums, or simply unwind in the tranquil surroundings.
Day 2: Tarangire National Park
After breakfast, you will depart for Tarangire National Park. Known for its diverse landscapes and abundant wildlife, Tarangire is home to large herds of elephants, zebras, giraffes, and wildebeests. Enjoy a thrilling game drive through the park and witness the incredible wildlife in their natural habitat. In the evening, you will head to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3: Ngorongoro Crater
Today, you will venture into the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This enormous volcanic caldera is home to a wide variety of animals, including the Big Five (elephants, lions, leopards, rhinos, and buffalos). Explore the diverse ecosystems within the crater and witness the unique interactions between the wildlife. In the afternoon, you will ascend the crater and drive to Ndutu for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 4: Ndutu
Wake up to the breathtaking beauty of Ndutu, located in the southern Serengeti ecosystem. This area is renowned for its annual wildebeest migration and calving season, which attracts a plethora of predators such as lions, cheetahs, and hyenas. Enjoy game drives in Ndutu, marvel at the vast herds of wildebeests, and witness the incredible spectacle of newborn calves taking their first steps. In the evening, return to your lodge for a delicious dinner and a well-deserved rest.
Day 5: Central Serengeti
Today, you will continue your journey to the central Serengeti, a region that offers exceptional wildlife viewing opportunities. The vast plains of the Serengeti are home to an abundance of wildlife, including lions, elephants, zebras, and countless other species. Embark on thrilling game drives and immerse yourself in the beauty of this iconic African landscape. In the evening, return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 6: Departure
After breakfast, bid farewell to the Serengeti as you make your way back to Arusha. Reflect on the incredible experiences and memories you have gathered during your journey. Depending on your departure time, you may have the opportunity to explore more of Arusha or visit local markets to purchase souvenirs. Finally, you will be transferred to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your onward journey.
