Day 1: Arrival in Addis Ababa
Upon arrival in Addis Ababa, the capital city of Ethiopia, you will be greeted by our representative who will assist you with the transfer to your hotel. Take some time to relax and acclimatize to the new surroundings. In the evening, you can explore the vibrant nightlife and taste the delicious Ethiopian cuisine.
Day 2: Addis Ababa City Tour
Embark on a guided city tour of Addis Ababa to explore its rich history and culture. Visit the National Museum, where you can see the famous fossilized remains of "Lucy," a 3.2-million-year-old hominid. Explore the Holy Trinity Cathedral, Merkato - the largest open-air market in Africa, and the Ethnographic Museum, which showcases Ethiopia's diverse ethnic groups.
Day 3: Addis Ababa to Langano
Leave Addis Ababa and drive south to Lake Langano, a beautiful freshwater lake surrounded by scenic landscapes. Enjoy a relaxing day at the lake, swimming or sunbathing on its sandy shores. You can also go for a boat ride or explore the surrounding area on foot.
Day 4: Bale Mountains National Park
Travel to Bale Mountains National Park, known for its stunning natural beauty and diverse wildlife. Embark on a full-day excursion in the park, where you can spot rare Ethiopian wolves, mountain nyala, and various bird species. Enjoy breathtaking views of the Bale Mountains and explore the Harenna Forest.
Day 5: Arba Minch
Drive to Arba Minch, a town located between the Rift Valley lakes of Chamo and Abaya. In the afternoon, take a boat trip on Lake Chamo, where you can witness crocodiles, hippos, and a variety of bird species. Visit the nearby Dorze village to learn about the unique culture and traditions of the Dorze people.
Day 6: Turmi
Continue your journey to Turmi, a small town in the heart of the Omo Valley. Enroute, visit the Konso village, known for its terraced farming and intricately carved wooden statues. In the afternoon, arrive in Turmi and visit a local Hamar village to experience their traditional way of life and witness their famous bull jumping ceremony.
Day 7: Jinka
Drive to Jinka, a town located near the Mago National Park. Visit the South Omo Research Center and Museum to learn about the diverse ethnic groups in the region, including the Mursi, Bodi, and Ari tribes. Explore the local market and interact with the friendly locals.
Day 8: Excursion to Mago National Park
Embark on a full-day excursion to Mago National Park, known for its abundant wildlife and stunning landscapes. Take a game drive through the park, where you may encounter elephants, buffalos, giraffes, and various antelope species. Enjoy a picnic lunch amidst the wilderness before returning to Jinka.
Day 9: Return to Addis Ababa
Bid farewell to the Omo Valley and drive back to Addis Ababa. Upon arrival, you will have some free time for last-minute shopping or exploring the city further. In the evening, enjoy a farewell dinner with traditional music and dance performances before transferring to the airport for your departure flight.
